The five groups are as follows:

  1. Two-Year-Olds - The SA Juvenile Championship and The SA Debutante Series
  2. Three-Year-Olds - The SA Triple Crown and The SA Triple Tiara
  3. Sprinters - The SA Sprint Championship
  4. Milers - The SA Golden Mile Series and The SA Ladies Mile Series
  5. Horses racing in the other races - The SA Champion of Champion Series

Winning owner: R100 000
Winning trainer: R20 000

Competition starts: 24 November 2007
Competition ends: 26 July 2008

All prizes will be awarded as cash. Winners will be notified as to when the presentations will take place.

RULES OF THE COMPETITION
  1. ELIGIBILITY FOR ENTRY

    Turfstar is open to all horses in South Africa competing in the listed races.

  2. SCORING

    Scoring will be based on the first five horses crossing the finishing line in the listed races.

    Points are allocated to runners filling the first five places as follows:

    2nd 6
    3rd 4
    4th 2
    5th 1

  3. AUDIT

    The results of the competition will be subject to audit by a registered auditor. The audited results will be deemed to be the final result.

    Note to all owners and trainers: In the Two-Year-Old categories please note that in the first legs are "either/or" and should a horse be entered into both of these legs then only the highest finishing score will be used for the purpose of this competition. In the event that the scores are equal in each leg (i.e. the horse finishes in the same position in both legs) then only one score will be used.
